When I was five years old my dad told me that he wanted to go look at a puppy. I immediately jumped up and ran to the car so excited. We went to a farm where this family bred huskies, about an hour away from where we lived. We arrived at the farm and I saw a group of five dogs sitting there, the parents and three puppies. I was scared at first because the father of my dog was the biggest thing I have ever seen, he was part wolf I later found out. We met the puppies and ended up bringing one home. On the way home he ended up getting car sick which did not make my dad happy. We ended up naming him Koda and he was the best dog I could ever ask for. He was crazy, always getting himself into trouble, never listening but we all loved him more and more everyday. He was one of the most difficult dogs to train just because he was stubborn but also because huskies are one of the smartest dogs. Koda always had the most amount of energy I have ever seen, always jumping around, running up and down the hill in our backyard over and over again. Especially when we took him to the snow. Koda’s safe place was the snow, we let him run and jump through it freely and you could tell he was so excited to be there. One time he even took off up the street and honestly I never thought I was going to see him ever again. Fast forward to the past year. Koda started getting really bad and wasn’t really able to walk much anymore, which was extremely heartbreaking because of how energetic he has been his whole life. I got home from Nationals, after all of the Covid-19 stuff began, and found out that Koda really wasn’t doing well. March 23, 2020 Koda passed in the comfort of his own home with his family right there with him. I will forever love and miss Koda with all my heart. Rest in peace.
